AVG is a free virus scan also
generally you get what you pay for, so I wouldnt reccoment a free antivirus, but nod32 is antivirus. If you have comcast, you have the option of a free mcafee subscription, CAS is a inexpensive antivirus, there is Panda, pretty cheap, stay away from TREND MICRO. its like a worm, once you install a free trial, its very hard to get off your pc.
I’d say the 2 best antivirus protection programs I use are Norton and Kaspersky. But Kaspersky is by far the best one to get rid of trojans, and it doesn’t use up as much resources as Norton, though, the interface is a little more complex.

All the free versions of anti-viruses most likely will not find all the viruses, the full versions, on the other hand will, so, I think its a good investement to buy an anti-virus due to the fact that it is not so expensive and it protects all your data.

Most of them have trial versions for 30 days, try them, clean out your pc, and if you liked it buy it.
